I work in my dad's firm and my salary on record with the government is registered less than what i receive from the company in my country. A lot of small businesses do the same to save money on social taxes paid to the government. I deposit my paycheck in my savings account monthly.my bank statement reflects the same. i have a valid b2 visa. When i reapply for a b2 visa on expiry does the us embassy access the government portal, which only employers can access , and check my salary registered with the government or go with the salary slip i submit and bank statement amount? If they do check the salary registered with government it wont match with my actual salary obviously. Hence will i be refused. I have been to the US twice.

So you have been lying about your income for years and now wonder what a foreign country is going to do if they find out?

@Willeke They aren't going to find out though: the US embassy has no practical means of checking a foreign nation's tax records. (Yes, they could probably find out if they really wanted to, but they have better things to do than scrutinize boring B2 visa applications to this extent.) Commented Sep 7 at 11:24

It's not "saving money on taxes", it's called "committing tax fraud" and that's considered a serious crime in most countries. If you get found out it would be very hard indeed to travel to most other countries. If, how, when and by whom you my get caught it is hard to predict.

@Hilmar This is getting OT but depending on the country there will be a difference between "actual" and "de facto" laws. For example is the US, driving 10% above the posted speed limit on freeways is ignored, whereas in other countries it's an instant fine. In addition, in not knowing the OPs country of residence, paying less taxes to a government that is widely considered corrupt would also be a factor. Note I'm not condoning the OP's actions, but IMHO context does matter.

@Sam "Shouldn't I qualify for a dropbox?" - that wasn't what you asked in your question...
