I have worked with computers since 1973:
- computer operations then COBOL programming for two retail companies (1973-1980)
- operating systems programming in assembly language for Data General (1980-1984)
- MIT Project Athena, C language, employed by IBM (1984-1987)
- various DOS, OS/2, and Windows application products for Lotus
Development Corp, C/C++/Java (1987-1998)
- technical evangelist and competitive analyst for IBM (1998-2015)
I left IBM in June, 2015. I am not actively looking for a new job, but am open to working on interesting projects formally or informally.
In addition to my primary career:
- I taught a Thai / Southeast Asian cooking class at Cambridge Center
for Adult Education (1983-1993)
- I managed vendors for World of Food and World of Crafts at the Cambridge River Festival (1987-2009)
- I have traveled extensively in many countries (1983-present)
- I am semi-conversational in Spanish, and have a basic command of Thai language
- I work with Thai people in USA who need to speak English better
