Nov 16, 2016 at 17:28 comment added Newton @pnuts The writter Audrey has mentioned that the tracks go all to way to Phnom Penh but they may not be reliable e.g. where ever there are breaks and discontinuities which will require to pick the nori manually. 7km of continuous track i presume after which you may need "extra services"

Nov 15, 2016 at 11:03 comment added Newton @Ivan seeing peoples reviews on tripadvisor, thebackpacker and lonely planet it seems that it'll cost $10 to rent a bamboo train and you will have to tip the driver too :p and it also seems people have gone all the way from the capital city to battambang thatbackpacker.com/2013/04/18/…

Sep 30, 2016 at 16:26 comment added Ivan I imagine that this is not usual for tourist @PeterHahndorf, but I was surprised that this possibility even exists. No broken bridges? No bad rails anywhere? ...
Sep 30, 2016 at 13:30 comment added Peter Hahndorf If think there are tracks between Battambang and Phnom Penh, so it's possible if you are willing to pay someone enough, but I have no idea how much enough is!. While riding these trains is fun for a while, I wouldn't use them all the way between the two cities, very uncomfortable, unless they introduced luxury seats since my last visit. It may take a long time too. Sorry I don't have details.
