Shengen visitor Schengen spouse visa after ban for deception

I am soon planning to apply for a spouse visa in europeEurope.1 1 year ago I tried to use false documentation to enter europeEurope out of pressure and desperation and got detained by customsimmigration in europeEurope. So I was told that I gothave been given a ban in Europe and in any schengen countries  . I was not deported iand was let free to leave the country voluntarily. DoesWill this affecthave any effect on my travelling future travel to Europe?
