In any case, requesting a special meal probably makes it less likely that you will be missed. On a recent flight, the crew were very apologetic about not having my special even though one of the standard meals was vegetarian and I was quite happy. | |
Aug 9, 2017 at 18:46 | comment | added | George Y. | You certainly can request it - the airline usually stacks a couple extra special meals (note that you can buy a new ticket less than 24hr before the flight). So with common special meals (vegetarian etc) you will almost always succeed. If you ask for something more exotic, then yes, you might not get it - but you still might not get it even if you order a month in advance. | |
