Jul 3, 2017 at 14:52 | comment | added | phoog | Indeed, in that context of the question "how likely..." it's even harder to argue that the permit is "not needed" unless you can show that the probability of being asked for a bribe is unaffected by possession of a permit, or at least that the magnitude of the impact on the probability is too small to outweigh the cost of obtaining the permit. I've never been to Serbia, but I have driven into and out of three other former Yugoslav republics and nobody ever checked my driver's license, just the documents for the car. | |

My knowledge is based on what friends say that "people they know have experienced in the past". Getting an international driving permit is a solution, but if it's not necessary it's nothing more than throwing money in the sink :) | |
