Sep 6, 2016 at 5:04 | comment | added | gman | Skyscanner does not give the cheapest flights. I've found plenty of cheaper flights on google.com/flights quite often. On top of that Google will show you results instantly, tell you if you change the flight by a day or so how much cheaper it will be, and show you prices for every day for month instantly.

After those are bought, 19 PLN, 29 PLN etc. I wouldn't call them "promotional flights", but certainly would call them "promotional prices". Anyway, you won't be able to get prices like that for any regular date when buying a ticket less than couple of weeks in advance.
Sep 5, 2016 at 13:32 | comment | added | hippietrail | @mts: No I certainly didn't find one that low. I think I got to about $7 or $8 AUD before moving on to other stuff (-:
Sep 5, 2016 at 13:31 | comment | added | mts | @hippietrail if any of them can beat EUR 2 as here that might still be an answer?! For Ryanair I just searched the fare on their website and made sure it was not advertised as discounted there (no red -x% mentioned) but of course that may not work for some of the fares you found.
Sep 5, 2016 at 13:08 | comment | added | hippietrail | I've been able to find quite a few flights in various places for < $10, but there's no easy was to rule out all of the discounted fares.

Sep 5, 2016 at 12:46 | comment | added | hippietrail | And how much extra is the fee for the bubble-wrapped box?
Sep 5, 2016 at 12:35 | comment | added | CptEric | how the hell can that work, @mts ? are you sent in a bubble-wrapped box? o_o
Sep 5, 2016 at 12:17 | comment | added | mts | However using the same strategy for flights within Poland I just found Ryanair flights from WMI to GDN on 15 Sep (Warsaw to Gdansk) for a mere PLN 9 (and I checked on Ryanair that it is not a discounted offer but seems a regular price), which corresponds to a mere EUR 2. Would you mind editing your answer to include this example?
Sep 5, 2016 at 12:13 | comment | added | mts | That is a good strategy, but I was asking for the flights, not the strategy and then I am not sure Skyscanner covers all eligible flights? Your example also does not beat the answer of JonathanReez so far.
