The problem is, after H1B stamping I will be in the US for 2 weeks before the Norway trip. I don't think it will be possible to apply and get a Schengen in those two weeks, or will it be?

Aug 30, 2016 at 3:26 | comment | added | phoog | @PeterGreen it seems likely that the status has already been changed to H-1B.
Aug 30, 2016 at 3:25 | comment | added | phoog | Did you file I-539 to change your nonimmigrant status? Was the change approved? If so, you are already in H-1B status and you will need an H-1B visa to return to the US in December. You will need to get that visa while you are in Norway. You will not be able to use your student visa to reenter the US.

Aug 29, 2016 at 21:28 | comment | added | Peter Green | Is your current work in the US legal under your current immigration status?
Aug 29, 2016 at 21:16 | comment | added | edocetirwi | You probably would get the visa but would need to show that you are going to your country after visiting Norway. They would not give you a visa without showing the flights home to get the U.S. visa stamped.
