I've traveled quite a bit and encountered extra fees (exit fee, departure fee, airport use fee!!!) mostly in poorer countries but I would have like to know in advance, especially that sometimes it was $50 (or so) per passenger, including infants and only cash was accepted. Departure time is a tough moment to be caught off-guard. | |
Apr 21, 2015 at 14:32 | comment | added | reirab | As far as actual mandatory taxes/fees, in some locations (such as the U.S.,) it's required by law for them to be included in your original ticket price, so, in those cases, you definitely won't have to worry about paying them separately on the day of travel. Fees for other optional services (seat select, bags, food, etc.) might have to be paid at the time of service, though, especially if you don't select them up front. | |
