In the case of an alien some of these special requirements don't apply, and other extensions to the maximum time of a detection can come into play - such as referral to immigration, or "lack of ties to the community" or "flight risk" being more likely to be cited, etc. Sometimes this even applies to out-of-state residents (like how a speeding ticket is handled), so all the more true of aliens. | |
