Nov 10, 2015 at 9:43 comment added PSC775 @happybuddha All the 50 sites that are listed on that page are commercial establishments and you cannot take your own tent and put up there even for a charge leave alone free of cost. Source? I dont know, some things you just know. I live in India and have been to some of the places that are in that list. This page lists 10 of the properties in that list of 50 and the prices are listed there : campsofladakh.com/rates.html You can camp for free at most places, Police wont bother you in India but the ones that are listed in there aren't free.
Nov 9, 2015 at 0:05 comment added happybuddha @ParminderSinghChahal Although not too remotely related to free camping, that link is merely a pointer that almost anyone could set up a make shift camp. Also, the link doesn't mention that the camp sites are paid for. Do you have references ?
