I'm flying with Batik Air from KUL to NRT. There is 20kg20-kg checked baggage included in the ticket but my suitcase weighs almost 30kg30 kg. When booking I added a +10kg+10-kg baggage "add-on", thinking this would allow me to bring a 30kg30-kg bag. Now I've heard from somebody else that the add-on needneeds to be a separate bag... Is this true?

Flight: Baggage add-on need to be for a separate checked bag? Or can it be added to the total weight of one bag?
