Aug 22, 2023 at 15:55 comment added David Mulder @AustinHemmelgarn Absolutely agree that nonstop flights are more desirable, but just to play devil's advocate I also like transfers when they are long and in places I haven't visited yet or just like (e.g. we have had multiple long transfers (both on single tickets and on multiple tickets) in istanbul, and we always enjoy those).

I know exactly nobody who likes dealing with a transfer, and with the exception of cases where the airports mostly line up in a straight line, nonstop flights almost always spend less total time in the air as well. The only cases I’ve heard people be happy about transfers (ignoring pricing) is when the nonstop would be exceptionally long (think JFK to HKG for example).
