I often see flights to/from Sarajevo via both Austria and Germany. If the Egypt-Paris flight and Lisbon-US flights are both full, for example, this is the result.

Aug 2, 2023 at 2:21 | comment | added | Mohamed Abdo | Oh, I read the question you sent and it is so helpful. I just hoped I knew before I'd need a Schengen visa as I had a flight that is only Paris and Egypt but with a layover and I didn't go with it. Thank you a lot
Aug 2, 2023 at 2:14 | comment | added | Mohamed Abdo | Thank you so much I really appreciate your answer. It is the latter US-Lisbon-Paris-Egypt. Would I need Schengen visa short stay or just a transit visa?
Aug 2, 2023 at 1:06 | comment | added | mlc | Do you mean that you have a transit in Lisbon on your way to Egypt and a transit in Paris on your way back to the US (or vice versa)? Or do you mean that on a single trip you will fly US-Lisbon-Paris-Egypt? The former itinerary probably does not require a visa; the latter almost certainly does. See also Do I need a visa to transit (or layover) in the Schengen area?
