Jun 23, 2022 at 12:11 | comment | added | Tonny | I have had good success with darning on various nylon sports bags and back-packs using thick(-ish) 1/4 to 1/2 mm fishing line for tread. The repair lasts forever (or at least until the rest of the bag has fallen apart). I always keep a spool of this fishing line, some fishing hooks and a needle in a side-pocket of my back-pack when I go trekking. Besides emergency repairs to bags or tents it also comes in very handy if I need to tie something together (like set a snare) or to improvise a fishing rod. | |
