Surely there are sometimes planes with empty seats on them which the airline would rather sell last minute than leave empty. | |

While they are not mutually exclusive, if you are looking for last minute travel, you might have to compromise on your definition of cheap. Conversely, if cheap is more important, you might find the very cheapest fares are sold out while you are still wondering if there is an even better deal available. | |
