I like being named for my father, but I wish I had never put JR on my name on any document. It is on my passport and often causes trouble. Airlines and hotels often record me as "Mr. JR." Now I want to get a ticket on China Railway and of course they want my exact family name.
Should I tell them it is
McLarty JR since that is on my passport or should I tell them it is
McLarty since even the US State Department agrees that is my last name and JR is a suffix?
