So my wife and I both have a forced week off in early April. We have enjoyed Scotland over the Summer. We actually surprisingly liked the weather (for us it was alternating between rainy for 15 minutes, then beautiful sunny for 30 minutes and back and forth). It was really fun. I guess the weather is part of the charm :)
It looks like the average temp in Edinburgh for April is 6 deg C (about 46 deg F) but with precipitation hitting a low point for Scotland at 44 mm.
But those are just numbers, I'm really interested in a human description of what Scotland is like in the Spring in terms of weather? Is it a reasonable time to enjoy Scotland, or will I be stuck inside bored the whole time? How much variance is in the weather? Can you get the occasional blizzard or something that could keep you stuck indoors?
We are outdoorsy type people that don't mind being a little uncomfortable. We tend to do a lot of hiking and walk around cities/town finding things to do.
