My L1 visa is set to expire in September and I am applying for a Schengen visa to travel to Europe post my expiration. However, below is my itinerary. I will be traveling to India before my visa expires and then from India I will be traveling to Europe with my family. And from Europe I will return to India. Also, the reason I am visiting India is for L1 visa extension. Will my Schengen visa be approved in this case?

  • How is your (US, presumably) L1 visa related at all to the story?

  • Since I am applying from Houston vfs office, the person at the office was very skeptical about my application since my US Visa is expiring. However, I explained to her that I will be traveling from India and will go back to India from Europe. But she didn’t seem very convinced and told my visa could get rejected. So I wanted to understand if that’s a possibility

There’s always the possibility of a refusal, much less so if you apply after your US visa is approved. But no-one can give you the odds of approval vs denial
