Me and my partner intend to get married soon. I am from non-EU country and my partner is a British citizen. Unfortunately we don’t meet the fiance visa requirements yet, but will meet that financial requirements in half a year approximately. Is it possible to get married in UK on Marriage visitor visa, then I will come back home and apply for the spouse visa, as by that time we will meet the financial requirements. The problem is, that we don’t want to wait separately all that time.

So, according to this will I be eligible to apply for spouse family visa from other country after holding a marriage visitor visa?

Thank you for your time, looking forward to hearing from you.

  • AFAIK that is the way you're meant to do it. – Michael Hampton Jan 7 at 1:51

Yes, having got a MVV will present no obstacle to getting a spouse visa. However, you might have trouble getting a MVV in the first place (since your plan is to eventually settle in the UK). It may be significantly easier to get married in your home country. – MJeffryes Jan 7 at 16:09
