This question already has an answer here:
So I am from Saudi Arabia. I have a multi-entry visit visa for 5 years.
I came to the UK on 9 August 2017 for 2 weeks. Exited to France and then returned home. I came back in September and stayed until 11 December 2017.
I applied for a short term student visa as short courses over 30 days are not allowed on a visit visa. Got the short term student visa which was valid from 28 December 2017 until 28 June 2018.
I came back to the UK on 1 February 2018 until 3 May 2018 and am returning home then.
The questions are:
Does the stay using the visit visa in 2017 differ from length of stay on the short term student visa because they are different visas for different purposes?
Or is the amount of time in the UK calculated all together for all visa types?
When I am back home and apply for a visit visa for 5 years,
and come back in August or July or September for 2-3 months, is that okay or not? Do they calculate total of days spent in the UK 180 days per 12 months regardless of what visa or are they treated separately?
It says long term visa can stay up to 6 months on each visit.
I contacted the call centre using the contact on their website and the lady said if you come on one entry for 6 months then leave you have to stay out of the UK for 6 months before you come back.
(she didn't understand my situation or take the time to know about the two types of visas I have)
Please advise as this is so confusing.
