Oct 31, 2019 at 1:09 comment added Dayne @MartinBonner: thanks for this. I will plan to carry sufficient cash.
Oct 30, 2019 at 20:20 comment added Martin Bonner supports Monica @Dayne If you are from the US, you'll need quite a bit more cash (coins and notes) in Germany than you are used to. You can probably pay for an evening meal in a posh restaurant by card, and almost certainly a hotel, but not a light lunch, and certainly not a sandwich in the bakers. (I was surprised that one of our favourite restaurants didn't take credit cards, only e-cash debit cards.)
Oct 30, 2019 at 17:14 comment added Dayne thanks Jan and dunni for this additional info. I'll make sure to carry coins.
Oct 30, 2019 at 14:58 comment added dunni I have already seen a newer version of those lockers, which also take cards, but that was only in some of the bigger cities, so most likely for GP it's coins only, as you mentioned.
Oct 30, 2019 at 14:57 comment added Jan I also believe that the lockers take coins (1 euro or 2 euros, iirc) only. Should be the same brand as in all German stations that have lockers.
