OK we're all adults here, so really, how on earth should I use a squat toilet? @Jonathan. Wow, that is super ethnocentric. You seriously putting you butt checks on the same surface some homeless dude just pissed and crapped on is more hygienic? I'm not saying the squatters are more so, but seriously... that is just a silly statement. |

Is it technically illegal for US citizens to visit Cuba? @yms I did indeed make that contradictory statement because the law itself is contradictory... almost in an amusing way :) |

Is it technically illegal for US citizens to visit Cuba? Why would posting this information be illegal? |

Is it technically illegal for US citizens to visit Cuba? @yms *sigh. Yes. Please refer to "but since that includes buying food you in essence cannot go to Cuba." I included the fact you MUST spend money to visit Cuba. Also, please note that arrive at the airport is technically "visiting Cuba" so you contradict yourself in your statement. |

OK we're all adults here, so really, how on earth should I use a squat toilet? I put mine on the floor and just deal with the fact that it's been there. |

OK we're all adults here, so really, how on earth should I use a squat toilet? I would also add that if you are looking for a hostel or room to stay in that has squatter toilets, a shower head is a useful replacement for a beday. |

OK we're all adults here, so really, how on earth should I use a squat toilet? @Adam Perhaps you should go to Indonesia. The dominant hand is actually good advice for anyone traveling in locations where toilet paper is non-existent. |

OK we're all adults here, so really, how on earth should I use a squat toilet? @Adam That would be a hard thing to prove empirically. Also, I live in Asia so I have squatter toilets in my office. Some people here don't get the choice of 'what we want' due to our current locations. Personally, I find squatters to be no more or less inconvenient than a sit down now. My toes hurt a but, but sitters cause my legs to fall asleep. |

OK we're all adults here, so really, how on earth should I use a squat toilet? A lot of people perch of the balls of their feet... as I do. FYI, there is research showing relieving your bowels this way leads to decreased instances of colon cancer. |

What technique do you use to remember city names in foreign languages? I personally like to make a phrase that sounds like it in my head and remember it via that. Such as 'pangandaran' I just remember 'Pan gone, they ran". Obviously, it doesn't sound perfect, but it is a great reminder about the general way your mouth needs to move. When I was a kid and I moved to Europe, it was basically how I survived my first year. |

Long term travel without being wealthy - how is it possible? I think $30USD a day is a lot of money. Hell, I live in SE Asia right now and I don't even make that much money in a day. |

Leaving airport international zone for a moment @mouviciel Mind is correct. In fact, the UK is not part of schengen along with a few others. It is a good idea for all international travelers to be familiar with what is and is not part of the agreement. You can reference at en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Schengen_Area |

Actual price of hiring a porter for Everest base camp I do know that. We have a bit a plan to save money which includes picking up supplies before reaching Lukla. Our group packs very very light, so we should have plenty of room to fit good travel foods like rice. |
