comment No-pictures buildings in Japan (shooting from street forbidden)
@cpast: Let's focus the question on buildings. Anyway, all laws preventing buildings pictures are accepted as answers, regardless of whether they are actually privacy laws or not. Cheers!

comment No-pictures buildings in Japan (shooting from street forbidden)
@JJCS: I would like to make it clear that my question is not about privacy, it is about law. Taking pictures of the entrance of a love hotel is not great from a privacy point of view (nobody want to be seen entering it), but it is not forbidden by law.

@choster: Exactly, and I want information on what is OK and what is not. Most countries have laws/decrees for this, the trick is to find the relevant text (probably in Japanese). Your link talks about inside the subway (ruled by the transportation authority), whereas I am asking about street photography (rules by public law I guess?). Cheers!

comment Where exactly is Yamada Castle in Okinawa?
How about the coordinates? Wikipedia gives 26°25′54″N 127°46′57″E as coordinates, but Google Maps Satellite shows at that point a house that does not match the description of the blog post. Nearby there are 3 suspect artifacts but difficult to say which one was Yamada Castle.

comment Walk from Mauritius MRU airport to Mahebourg?
Most of the OpenStreetMap data in this area was actually created by me. It is not complete, I have not drawn gates because I don't know whether there are any.

Indeed it seems that my "3 kilometers" was exaggerated. Fixed, thanks! Still, I am interested in knowing whether the South route is doable or not.

The last paragraph is not needed: I saw that coming and that's why I explicitly stated my question is not about nationality or stamps. Because it is a whole other debate :-)

Anecdote against anecdote: "a 2007 article in Commentary magazine by scholar Joshua Muravchik reports on his recent visit to Saudi Arabia; he wrote “Jewish” on his visa application, and was nevertheless granted a Saudi visa." volokh.com/2011/06/23/…
