comment Where can a traveler experience modern, high-tech, luxurious, classy, immaculate human dwellings?
@DanDascalescu: Unfortunately, I can't see how to make it work in this case. I understand you are trying to get ideas for travelling, and that's perfectly fine (I also like to get tips from others about this), but that's not what Travel-SE tries to do. I'm sorry if you had a somewhat disappointing first experience with Travel-SE, but hopefully you'll see the benefits of a more focused approach to an inherently subjective topic such as travelling.

@DanDascalescu: People want to talk about all kinds of stuff, but that doesn't mean Travel-SE is the right place to do random topic discussions, and something that amounts to popularity contest. There are other places on the internet to do that, as you've already discovered. "Targeted keyhole solution" tries to cure the symptoms instead of the cause -- and the cause is, the question as it is invites discussions and opinions with no "right" answer -- not something SE sites are trying to do.

By all means, go ahead and ask on Quora. Stack Exchange sites make a point in avoiding open-ended and too broad questions such as this, with the result of significant increase in signal-to-noise ratio. You are very much welcome to ask a specific question that can be answered reasonably objectively and does not invite long lists of answers. I'm sure from your experience on SO you are aware certain types of questions are not allowed, and it's a matter of SE policy, nod assumption on the part of mods.
