comment Catalan or Spanish in Barcelona?
Or, to put it simpler, I guess that addressing a Spanish in Catalan would be much worse than addressing a Catalan in Spanish.

comment Why are airlines against the transferring of tickets to other persons?
In addition, also consider that a plane and a concert have a limited number of seats, while a phone manufacturer usually can just produce as many as he needs to meet demand, if he wants to (and he does).

comment Accidentally travelling with a large amount of cash - epic fail!
The first paragraph is quite good, but then it runs it mentioning traveler's cheques...

comment How do I get an engagement ring past security/customs in an airport without alerting my significant other?
Just wear it? If you're stealthy enough, she won't notice it.

comment How do I get to/from Korcula/Dubrovnik in October?
I would totally take a water-riding bus!

comment What do I lose by not booking flights through a travel agent?
@User58220 and that's a pretty good thing.

comment Do I need to stamp my Trenitalia/Trenord tickets?
There are many kind of stampers, the new ones are green, linking one specific might confuse them, I'd remove the link.

@jwenting or just use common sense?

comment What items are forbidden to take when traveling to the US that would be OK in most other countries?
@MarkMayo nope, this is a really good question, that unfortunately attracted dumb answers.

comment What items are forbidden to take when traveling to the US that would be OK in most other countries?
This doesn't even attempt to answer the question. It is an answer to the different question "which items are forbidden to take when traveling to the US?". The whole point of this question is to get a quick summary of the unusual prohibitions, not all of them!

comment Firearm carried aboard an ocean going sailboat
@Cody this comment worries me. Are you actually going on cruise, or the whole point of your voyage is to hope to get attacked by pirates in order to be able to legally shoot at them?

comment What is overbooking (of flights), and why do airlines all seem to do it?
This doesn't make sense: no seat is sold twice. Or, to be anal, one seat is sold twice but another one is occupied without being directly paid, since you already paid for the first (overbooked) seat.

comment What is the actual price of hiring a porter for Everest base camp?
@grm this means that if they get ~half of what you pay, the other half is used by the agency to pay for all these insurances and stuff.

Next time fly with a company who isn't trying to rob you using nonsense clauses of doubtful legal standing.

@GregHewgill maybe there are some policies, he's asking about that.
