that is the case for the non-highspeed trains. You must buy a reservation for the highspeed trains and often times that can be expensive.

SWA's program is based on one ways (connecting doesn't give you an advantage) rather than segs+miles. All other airlines qualify on segments or miles. Also: SWA doesn't fly everywhere.

It should be 1.5 hours prior to the flight departure time. That is to handle situations of passport control/doc checks/security. KEF may not be that strict but its a general rule to keep.
