comment How does one know if a rental car takes diesel or gasoline?
@SantaC.: I'd understand that as D alone, not in combination with other letters. Which was in fact true. 30 years ago ;-)

@RussellMcMahon: true you have to pay extra for diesel, but it's not unusual to get free upgrade without asking, just because they don't have the cheaper car you've reserved.

comment Arriving in the US from a non Visa Waiver country
Given that both Germany and Poland are Schengen, there is no real reason why not use German passport while leaving US.

comment Multiple visits to USA
Most countries (including US) have 183-day rule, which states that if you stay there 183 days or more, you're considered permanent resident (at least for taxation purposes). In other words with your 247 days you're de facto resident of US, yet you don't have official resident status.

comment Are international driving licences really necessary for any country?
In case on Spanish Guardia Civil it's a common scam to get their ticket quotas. The would as international licenses of EU citizens, while both Spanish and European law clearly states that any EU license is valid in all EU.

comment Is it possible to get a Russian visa with a Dutch passport while holding the Russian nationality?
@Annoyed: actually it also affects natural born Dutch if they go live abroad and obtain other nationality, they must give up Dutch nationality. Anyway, general rule is no double nationality, you're right that there are some exceptions.

Interesting, so to sum it up the difference: 47 minutes, 2 transfers for about £20 vs 55 minutes, 0 transfers for about £3.

I'll most likely have a small trolley bag (the size you can take as hand luggage).

comment What to do about my US iPhone while traveling around Europe?
nano SIM is cut down (yes, physically cut) version of normal SIM. Cutters cost peanuts. For example one for $3 on Amazon. Many places where they sell SIMs will cut it for you.

comment Are there any countries where red clothing is frowned upon?
I can imagine that could be risky in LA, as it could be taken as a sign of association with Bloods.
