comment Are international transfer zones typical around the world?
@MarkMayo: I thought that it was obvious, that Schengen is not "international", even though by strict definition of the word it is..

@Gagravarr: AFAIK, for example in Europe, at least in EU, if airport does not have separate international transfer zone, it doesn't get certified for international flights. ("international" in case of Schengen countries of course means non-Schengen destinations).

comment Leaving airport international zone for a moment
@JoelFan: only 15 minutes, as long as you go in correct direction. Which is not always the case ;-)

comment If, like Edward Snowden, your passport was revoked/cancelled, how can you travel?
@JeanHominal: traveling under false name would be a crime anywhere in the world. Leaking information from NSA is a crime only in USA.

comment Which other Schengen countries should I visit from Munich such that the cost is minimal?
"Schengen" in the question is superfluous, as there are no non-Schengen countries nearby.

comment Do I need an airport transit visa through Switzerland if I have a Schengen visa?
@momo17: No, you don't have to enter Spain first. You can enter Schengen zone at any place. That question has been answered on this site numerous time already.

comment How unsafe is it to leave an expensive laptop at a rented apartment or a cheap hotel room? Which precautions should I take?
@exizt: this video is really on how not to lock your laptop. :-P Unless the table is permanently attached to the floor, one could just take laptop, put it under the table, getting slack on the loop and take the loop off the table foot.

comment Where can I get a student ID in Poland (Wroclaw) using my American Student ID?
Railways are major PITA. I've had problem when bought tickets for my family. Cashier asked how old my son is (10 at the time) and gave me what I thought was the correct ticket. But then in the train the conductor said it's not valid, because he's not attending Polish school. I had to pay a fine. Apparently there are two kinds of discounts, one base on age (33% IIRC), other based on attending school (50%).

comment Are there limited term identification cards in the UK?
@Annoyed: I was under impression that these were somehow related, and IDs for non-EU families of EU members were one of the pilots for general ID programme. Are residency cards still issued?
