comment Is there any way to sail the Danube on a budget?
@Mark I'm looking for a (professional, commercial) service that offers basic guidance + rentals somewhere along the stream. Any ideas on how to edit the question to make that clearer?

comment Changing a flight with layovers - does fee apply multiple times?
@uncovery well, phone calls are only of limited reliability :) For example, the rep told me that the change fee is $250, while this source says it's $300 now.

I just spoke to United and they say the fee applies just once, so I'm good. Maybe someone can come up with an general per-airline overview or an authoritative source though.

comment Wearing a unique piece of clothing around Europe, good or bad? - Kilt
I think this is a cool idea. You'll draw a lot of attention in many places (especially outside big cities) but I can't think of any area in Europe where you would run into outright trouble with this.

Maybe we should call the respective tourism offices and invite them here!

There seem to be speficic issues with using US-issued credit cards in Europe: How can Americans get a chip-and-pin credit card for use while abroad?

comment What's the best way to get from Freiburg (Germany) to Hannover (Germany)?
yeah. If I wrote down what should be done to the political class for keeping this law enacted for 80 years, I would probably get a visit from the Verfassungsschutz. (Hint: It would involve a flamethrower. Or tar and feathers.)
