What is the best company to go through for climbing Mt. Rainier? Thanks for the advice! I didn't know you could summit by yourself. I have experience mountain climbing on Kilimanjaro, but don't have any experience with the equipment you need for Mt. Rainier. Do any of these companies you suggested do training courses in isolation (without the guided climb)? Not sure I'd want to do it without a guide but still worth looking into. |

What is a good hydration system for hiking Kilimanjaro? Sorry for the late response, didn't see this til now - do you mean tour operator? We used Focus in Africa. See my answer to this question. |

Is there any similar alternative to Zanzibar, in Tanzania? This wasn't really relevant to the answer, but if you do decide to go to Nungwi or Kendwa, make sure you take plenty of cash. There is no ATM, and the closest one is in Stone Town which is an hour away! The hotels don't accept credit cards unless you're staying in one of the all-inclusive resorts (very pricey). The closest thing to an ATM is their "cash services" - they swipe your credit card like you made a purchase and then give you cash, but charge you 25% per transaction. |
