comment Cheaper alternatives to travel to Hokkaido?
Not directly answering your question, however first week of January will be around Chinese New Year, and that will have an effect on price since many Chinese will travel to Japan for vacation.

comment Would China to Taiwan and back again count as another entry into China?
@hippietrail Actually the closest Taiwanese controlled island is indeed a very short ferry ride from the mainland :P Nevertheless you still pass border controls.

comment How to choose a cafe/coffee shop when travelling?
Asking is the only way you are going to find out. Starbucks can afford to rent premises in the obvious visible areas, however the boutique coffee shops will often be hidden.

comment I have a double entry visa but need to enter China three times. What can I do?
I had a 2 times entry visa (L class) with one visit used and needed to change to a Business visa (Z class). The office in HK just cancelled the existing 'L' and issued a new 'Z'

comment Would China to Taiwan and back again count as another entry into China?
This is correct. Although you are 'still in China' and are on an internal flight as far as the mainland authorities are concerned, they do actually recognize that you left their jurisdiction. (The same as HK or Macau)

comment Why do airlines prohibit having two infants in the same row?
I recently had a 12 hour flight with two infants (one was mine) sitting in bulkhead seats, and another infant in the same row on a bassinet. Maybe it depends on the airline?

comment Muslim Restaurants in Seoul South Korea
Not answering your question, just FYI: I know the ship building town of Geoji in the far south of the country has a large Pakistani community with many restaurants.

comment Checked-in luggage, Last in First out, is it true?
My experience in East Asia is that having an airline status (Such as SkyTeam Elite) definitely means your bag is coming out first, no matter what.

Thanks. apparently my hotel is '10 minutes' by taxi, although my limited experience suggests I should count on 30 minutes during the KL lunch time rush hour. I will just have a carry on bag. (no checkin luggage)

I noticed some votes to close this question. Is there something off-topic? Please let me know so that I can at least try and amend.

comment Preventing theft in Western Europe
It does suck, but yes they are looking for the most obvious tourists first. Also try and move around with purpose since looking lost is a sure sign to potential thieves.

comment Chinese visa limited to 30 days (new immigration law)?
It might be worth elaborating the original question. A single entry L visa will last for 3 months, however it will only allow a stay of 30 days inside mainland China.
