comment Why do so many business hotels have HLN as default channel?
I long ago realized that America has only two channels: sports and politics. Occasionally it has a third: violent crime. I solve this by leaving the TV off. There have been times I have been in a room for 5 full days and have no proof the TV actually worked. Once on Day 4 I discovered it didn't.

comment Are there alternatives to the ranger cabins in Algonquin Park?
Thanks, Sandra, for meeting the criteria stack exchange uses for posts with external links that some people might think are spam: you've identified your association to the link, made it clear what is on the other end of the link, and provided enough information in this answer that people don't even have to click the link. Your answer is also a direct answer to the question that was asked, rather than a tack-on to something unrelated just to promote yourself. Welcome to the site and I hope you have other answers to provide that are not just about your cabins specifically.

comment General security concerns about Cancun, Mexico
@Flimzy The first link in my answer contains numerous stories of Canadians killed in and near Cancun. It's a nice theory, that you're safe in a tourist town, and it's probably true, but "zero in decades" is most definitely not true. The police are happy to record beating deaths as accidents to make Cancun look safer, but that's not the same as being safer.

comment US Visas: O and P
It's not about immigrating, it's about visiting. Travelling to. What visa you need is on topic.

comment US Visas: O and P
I don't disagree about the lawyer, but if you're going to make $40 or $50 a night for 7 or 8 gigs, after gas money to drive from town to town you're realistically not going to afford legal advice. I would settle for knowing what the written rules are in this case.

comment Crossing from US into Canada as a European tourist with a rental car
If the rental car people say you can't take the car across the border, you could always just walk across the bridge (travel.stackexchange.com/questions/2007/… ) and walk back later - but have proof you intend to continue your vacation in the US
