comment Why must I lock the door of an aircraft lavatory before the light inside fully brightens?
@damryfbfnetsi not a big deal but I was expanding "to another passenger on the outside" to also include crew and passengers further away than just the other side of the door, and including a safety reason (evacuations etc) on behalf of the crew as well as a privacy reason.

comment Why must I lock the door of an aircraft lavatory before the light inside fully brightens?
In addition to privacy concerns, locking the door lets the crew know someone is inside (they may need to know in an emergency) and activates indicators that will save someone else walking all the way up the aisle only to find it occupied.

comment What's the cheapest transport to get from Ataturk International aiport to the Taksim Square area of Istanbul?
if the timing is right, it's possible you could go for free as part of the stopover tour offered by Turkish Airlines - istanbulinhours.com/faq

comment Where is the safest place in an airplane?
to both of you, if you ignore incidents where no-one is hurt and those where everyone dies, what you are left with is very small. Maybe one a year?

comment Disability Laws By Country
@ECarterYoung don't worry about having the "organizing question" to connect the others. Just ask (a whole new different) about the first country you're interested in, and then another whole new different question about the second and so on. The connections can happen by tags, or you can mention one question in the other which will add it to a Linked section that displays on the right. This "organizing question" doesn't fit our format at all.

comment Disability Laws By Country
@ECarterYoung you would have to ask 5 questions and then make a decision based on the answers - YES! That's exactly what we want. You can ask whether the UK has something like the ADA and how easy it is to get around and how the countryside differs from the cities and so on, you can ask a similar question for Japan and so on, and each of those will have value for someone with different aims than you who needs that information. It's slightly more work for you but way more value for future readers. See meta.stackexchange.com/a/185482/147247

comment Does one need a visa to visit Antarctica?
@yashar no government may limit its own citizen to come into the country they are a citizen of, but that hardly means they will issue you permits for anything you happen to want. You need a PERMIT even if you don't need a VISA - don't expect one to follow the rules of the other.
