comment What would a month holiday to Australia from Amsterdam/Brussels roughly cost to a family of four?
It really depends on what you want to do I guess. (1) you might want to book some internal flights, because it is not fun to drive thousands of km in a desert with kids (2) there are basically no historical things to see in Australia, there are many "attractions", but these seem rather expensive.

Thanks for the details! How can I get to the other venues using public transport? Do you know if they offer bouldering/sport climbing/both?

In Poland money exchange offices will often give you better exchange rate than a credit card.

comment What's the most comfortable way to travel with 2 backpacks or bags and a DSLR camera?
@rlesko, if you need the stuff from your daypack then you should do (4) above, i.e. distribute it reasonably in the big backpack.

comment What is the cheapest way to get tickets for weekly scheduled flights?
I don't think there are any readily available options, but you have a fair chance to negotiate something with the airline. It would help if you had a alternative though.

comment How to buy for ticket from Heathrow terminal 5 to Canterbury east train station?
I don't think the places are numbered on these local trains. If you manage to squeeze in and physically get on the train then it will be fine. Also I am sure it will be half empty at this time.

comment Cheapest way to get from Europe to South Africa
So why do you ask for the "cheapest" way in the title? I am pretty sure flying will be the cheapest if you add all the costs like food, accommodation etc. on the way (on top of the transport costs). Even if you don't then I wouldn't be surprised at all if flight will prove to be the cheapest.

comment What are some tricks you use to buy cheap airline tickets in Europe?
Are you always traveling from Romania? Often there are web sites specializing in tracking promotional air fares, and you can either sign up for the updates or check it while looking for the best deal. Obviously they are specific for a given country.

comment A second passport or ETD?
On a side note, I hate that you actually have to send your passport to get something done with UK authorities. Can he request to get his passport back? I thought that they would check it, make a copy and send it back if the procedure takes that long.

@MarkMayo, that's the thing - I want to pay as little as possible to see all the relevant things there. Absolute maximum would be $300 (because I have been offered a tour for $350)
