comment Is there an online map or other resource that lists windmills in the Netherlands?
Are you interested in any specific area? Many of them can be visited nowadays.

What kind of car? Your car? New or old car? Well-maintained?

comment How do I ensure that my ATM card will work while traveling within the US?
Switch banks to a well established one (or take a second account). But this is just lack of service from their side. It'll save you a lot of frustration and effort to switch.

comment Do I need to carry my passport while travelling within the Schengen area?
@Adi Driver's license should be sufficient for IDing.

comment Do I need to carry my passport while travelling within the Schengen area?
@AdityaSomani It sounds discrimanatory to me too. They should be able to explain why they asked for your ID (at least for the Netherlands, but cannot imagine it to be different for France). Their English is problematic of course, so they might have had some reason.

The police does not have the right to ask someone to identify him just for no reason. There has to be some reason, and they should be able to explain why your are asked to identify yourself.

@aditsu I read the version where Paris was editted out (CDG in itself is meaningless to me), thanks for clarifying.

comment Association of travel agencies in the US?
@Vitalik What if you book a bus/plane trip with a travel agency, who also operates the bus/plane? In many cases you might be fine, but there might be exceptions.

comment How to intentionally get denied entry to the US, without getting into trouble?
@user11743 This is not silly. I think everybody understands your situation. Some countries have good organization to support women in these situations, but I am afraid your country is not one of them. (I don't have good advice for you unfortunately)

comment Buy flight tickets in advance or just in time for a multi-city trip in Europe
Off-topic remark: also consider trains for Netherlands/France/Germany. Connection Amsterdam-Paris is really good for example. If you go by high-speed rails, you'd better also book in advance.

I have experienced that it is possible to hire a police officer to travel with you. I don't know how you could arrange it, though.

comment What is the cheapest way to stay in London for a week?
@Annoyed Of course, but you need to invest socially. Hosts will not like it if you consider them a cheap place to stay

Cost effectiveness is not the best reason to go couchsurfing.

comment Travel Doctor vs GP for vaccinations
@MrPizzzzzza That is ridiculously expensive. In Holland you only pay 7.50 euro's for a consult with the travel doc. Of course you pay for the vaccines you use, but that is done immediately.
