Why SOME Israeli groups are so impolite and what to do? This is an anecdote, but I think it's kind of relevant. I was talking with the manager of a hostel I was staying in Amsterdam in 2001, and at some point she revealed her immense hatred of Greeks. She has had tons of unpleasant experiences with Greeks over the years, to the point that she no longer accepted travelers from Greece in her hostel. I had flown in from the UK, with a bunch of English friends and she had assumed I was English (at that time I was living in Cambridge for three years, so I had started to pick up the accent). I only told her I was Greek when we where leaving... :) |

How to get from Thessaloniki to Vourvourou and around? @MarcelC. Renting a car in Thessaloniki would also be a very good idea. Greek drivers aren't that bad in general, but our aggressive style in combination with Chalkidiki's old and full of turns roads can be a bit dangerous at times. |
