Cool! I especially like the colour of the blanked. It digs out some French memories :D

@HenningMakholm Ah, it seems it was before 2008, sorry for that, I'll remove the comment.

comment Schengen Visa for Germany refused due to lack of subsistence
Yes. EUR 700 / month is not enough money for a stay in Germany unless you've got a very very very cheap accomodation. The recommendation would be to add a small budget from which it were clear how are you going to manage with that little amount of money.

comment I am British, If I change my passport name, would other countries know my old name?
Just to make things clear. Even if your friend (1) gets some troubles with country X, (2) changes his name, (3) gets involved with country X again (e.g., applies for a visa) and he doesn't mention the troubles he had, it can easily be a crime in country X.

What cabbies or porters do you speak about? I'm not a millionaire :p

comment How to protect glass and ceramic items for air travel?
Fortunately, I don't have "glasses" in the sense of "wine glasses". It's mostly smaller stuff and then some ceramic cups (with no foot). I'll put it in the middle of my large clothes suitcase and it should be fine. Thanks!

comment How much can I claim in damages for a missed connection, on an EU airline flying through the EU?
If a national airliner puts a businessclass passenger in a motel after a missed connection, this passenger should yell the hell out of them.

comment How does seat assignment work with 'direct to gate' service from Norwegian?
However, the cited text seems to imply that you do not have to go to the self-service kiosk, so I'm a bit lost when you suggest to go there.

@DanNeely I know. It seems that I forgot to tag the comment as /sarcasm, sorry for that :D

A city law about "what to do when the parking machine is under snow" counts as of the stranger things I've heard of.

comment Is it possible to leave at connection flight in Avianca
I agree with @pnuts that this is covered in the other question. The most important thing is: you likely won't be allowed to go back.

comment Is it normal to walk around a(n American) hotel in pajamas?
+1 While not the most detailed answer, I believe an important one, since it comes from "an insider".

comment Dual citizen living in the US: What can I do to avoid using the US passport when applying for a Chinese visa?
Can't you show them your US driving license and your Irish passport? If you chose to apply through a travel agency, couldn't it help? (These are just ideas, I've got no personal experience with it.)
