comment What medical supplies should I take with me on a walking / biking trip in New Zealand?
@BartArondson I know you edited it, but I could add that sometimes it's easier to get some medicines in some countries (where drugstores don't require a prescription), if you know something about the meds you need.

comment What are some safe places to travel in South America?
How much "outdoorsy" are you planning to do in this trip? Like camp outside, stay in a hotel but spend the whole day where you can only see green, or want to go somewhere where there is nobody nearby ?

comment I have discovered that the hotel room toilet is blocked, but too late :/
@Johnny I'd totally agree with you, and that's what I would do, except that the question was "what do I do if I don't want to call the front desk?". Your comment could be made to the question, since all the answers provided by me and others are less preferable than calling the front desk...

perhaps because you wouldn't hear some alert? (of course, improbable, but might be why someone told you so)

comment Taking a taxi in Argentina with a newborn: is the toddlers seat necessary?
Just to update: I did the trip, and, really, no one cares. But as soon as I arrived there, we bought a baby carrier and it was great, not only for taxi, but also for tourist bus and for walking. Even protected my little girl from the cold wind...
