comment How can I convert my French driving license to a Massachusetts driving license?
@LessPop_MoreFizz Regardless of the legal status (why would that be relevant?), this question is about a situation with clear plans to go back home in a fairly short time frame.

comment How can I convert my French driving license to a Massachusetts driving license?
@LessPop_MoreFizz This question is not about long-term immigration (what's short-term immigration anyway? Immigrating on your deathbed?) nor about relocation. It's about a short stay (a few months).

comment Which digits should I eliminate when giving my number to foreign travellers so as to not confuse them?
@LessPop_MoreFizz I meant to split, of course (I explain why you should split it), but there was a typo. Indeed it doesn't really matter in the US (or more generally in the NANP), but it matters (almost) everywhere else.

comment Can tourists get French cheque books?
@Gagravarr They're quite different: cheques are payment orders to a specific beneficiary, whereas travellers cheques are more like cash that can only be used by one person. But travellers cheques might solve the same problem. I've never heard of prepaid cheques (except for a fee for very large sums, e.g. for buying a car).

comment What's the cheapest way to fly to Cuba?
I don't know if it's still true, but in the cold war days, maybe even the 1990s, Cuba was where you'd transfer for the cheapest flights between Europe and Latin America.

comment Is there a map or resource that represents the distance in terms of time instead of Km or Miles?
Travel time mostly does satisfy the triangle inequality: the time to go from A to C is at most the time to go from A via B to C, which is the time to go from A to B plus the time to go from B to C. Your counter-example respects the triangle inequality, it's just not in the middle of the segment in the travel-time space. One reasonable models where the triangle inequality isn't respected is with scheduled transportation, if the quickest route from A to C is via B there's no good connection at B.

comment How long does it take to get from Gare du Nord to the Palace of Versailles, by public transport?
33 minutes? That's unrealistic. You'd have to know the way well, rush in the corridors, and be exactly on time for one of the few non-stop trains from Montparnasse (about one per hour off-peak, I think). And that gets you to Versailles Chantiers, which is about 10 minutes' walk further from the Palace than Rive Gauche.
