Most remote exclave? The Falkland Islands are not part of the EU. They are oversea territories of a member state, they have a privileged relationship with the EU, and a few EU regulations indirectly apply to them via their parent state, but they are not part of the EU as officially defined, and most EU regulations and institutions do not apply there. |

Additional cabin handbag on flights @user44556 In my limited experience and that of people around me, low-cost companies such as Easyjet and Ryanair are out to get you and will charge you or bar you for having two small bags when the rules say one. High-cost companies are more lenient on the number of bags (laptop bag plus clothes bag is a common sight and raises no eyebrow), but I once had to check in a bag with Lufthansa because it was overweight by less than 1kg, so there's no guarantee. |

Where can I rent a car in French Guiana to cross to Suriname/Brazil? Are you aware that French Guyana now has long-distance buses? Not that “hassle” isn't justified (you'd need three buses across French Guyana, then a ferry and another bus in Suriname), but at least there's a way with a schedule. Probably more interesting than driving, if slower. |

Finding a notary in France / Italy Sorry, but “photocopies certifiées conformes” no longer exist. They used to be a legal requirement in many circumstances, but now one swears that the copies are true on one's honor, there is no longer a requirement that the certification be performed by a municipal employee and town halls no longer offer this service. This changed around 1997 (give or take a year or so); it took a couple of years for people to learn about the change, but now if you walk into a town hall and ask for a “photocopie certifiée conforme” you're likely to get a blank look. |

If I travel to Paris, can I get by with just English? While education is standardized, there is a much larger proportion of people in large cities (and in touristy places) who are more proficient in English because they have used it in their job, not just learned it at school and then promptly forgotten. |

Finding a notary in France / Italy Note that a US public notary is not at all the same thing as a French notaire. What specific service do you need? It's would be pretty weird to need to visit a notaire while traveling, so I don't think that's what you're after. |

Cheapest way to get from Zürich (Switzerland) to Brussels (Belgium) Definitely check DB, yes. No need to try to break at Freiburg: the DB trains go to Basel, and most long-distance fares will be identical whether you board at Basel or Freiburg. |
