@NateEldredge Yes. The data may not be as complete regarding speed predictions on different roads, but it's definitely enough to drive by. With offline maps, what you'll miss is real-time traffic information, which may or may not be important depending on where and when you drive.

As long as you only want directions based on static data (maps) and not live data (traffic), the cost for using your phone is $X/MB * 0MB = 0. Download the maps for free on an unmetered connection before starting your trip.

comment Are you able to bring bagels into South Korea on a flight?
This is irrelevant: TSA controls what is accepted by airport security when you board a flight in the US. It's perfectly legal to travel with liquid, what isn't legal is to bring it with you from outside the airport. If you buy a bottle airside, or fill one at a water fountain, it's ok. If you land with one, it's ok. What matters here is whether South Korea will let it in: some countries ban food imports.

@drN I don't know why this rule was set up nor what the corner cases are. You could ask a separate question about it.

comment Purchase Paris Visite pass from Orly airport on a public holiday
@rafeymaher Oh, I think you're right: Paris Visite isn't just a ticket, there's also a leaflet and I think coupons for the attractions, so the machines can't hand it out. If you're going to CDG and Disneyland then indeed Paris Visite is a better deal for you than for the average tourist. Though perhaps Mobilis (day pass) would come out cheaper (not advertised to tourists, I think it's only mentioned on the French part of the website) — then again probably not because Mobilis isn't valid for the airport trips.

comment Is there some other train than Eurostar to go from Lille to London?
@MarkMayo Eurotunnel shuttles don't take foot passengers. Technically, I don't know if you can smuggle in by pretending to be a cyclist, but I don't think so. So you need a vehicle not only to go from Lille to Coquelles and Folkestone to London, but also to take that vehicle with you in the train.
