comment International arriving Chicago ORD to domestic, two different airlines how do I recheck bags?
Are you arriving from a destination that offers Pre-Clearance (eg Canada or Ireland)? That makes a huge difference to what's involved

comment From Gatwick airport to central London by bus
Is there a reason why you want to use a bus for the whole way? Train+Bus is likely to be much quicker

Pretty sure you need one card or ticket per person

comment How to check a large backpack?
I've also seen those handed out to people with buggies or prams or the like, if the checkin agent looks blank it might be worth asking for the bag to put a buggie / stroller / etc into, in case they only know of them for that use!

Was this on two tickets or just one? And what did the people operating your flight to Turkey say when you spoke with them?

comment Train Journey into Croatia from Italy
Early July might be a problem - European train timetables change every year in June and December, so it's quite possible that the trains/buses for post-June haven't been decided or announced yet

The FlyerTalk BA Executive Club lounge info suggests it's still closed, and doesn't list any alternatives

comment Does one have to pay custom duties while bringing in a 'Fender Stratocaster American Standard' guitar from USA to India for himself?
You probably need to split this into two questions, one about the customs/import duties, one about getting the guitar safely half way round the world with you

comment How to sleep in twins beds that are pushed together?
In some countries (Germany being the one that springs to mind), even a double bed would come with 2 individual single duvets. I've seen setups with 2 beds pushed together, each with their own duvets. So, could be worse...

comment Missed ground connection
Sadly, a long customs line is neither the fault of the airline nor the airport, but of the government of the country you were clearing customs in (Germany) not having sufficient agents for the demand. Other than travel insurance, you're out of luck as I can't see the german government paying up!

comment What is the best alternative to work one afternoon in Brussels during a trip?
If you're going down the Regus route, then their Business Lounges are likely to be a better bet - much cheaper and aimed at the roadwarrier wanting somewhere to get some work done for a few hours to a day

comment Is it possible to consolidate Virgin (Velocity) with AirNZ Airpoints?
You can send your Virgin Australia points to Singapore airlines for a small conversion fee, in case that opens up some more options? Otherwise, maybe look at getting a Virgin Australia credit card or similar to top up your points balance?
