comment Flying Winnipeg - Calgary - Amsterdam - Berlin, when do I go through customs?
It has been a while since I last went through Amsterdam, so I just assumed it'd be like Heathrow. If you know Amsterdam well, any chance you could edit the answer to fit what's found there?

This question appears to be off-topic because it is about sustainability, and hence would be better on the Sustainability SE site

Immigration, yes, but not necessarily customs, depends if it's all on one through ticket or not

Is it all on one booking + ticket? That changes the answer

comment I am travelling from Mumbai, India to New York, US with a technical halt in London. I am not alighting from aircraft. Do I need transit visa of UK?
I've never heard of a commercial aircraft doing a technical stop in Heathrow. I'm almost certain that you'll disembark, spend some time in the terminal, then board the onward flight (which might not even be the same plane). What makes you think your plane is very unusual and is doing just a technical stop?

comment Renting a flat in Lille for a few months - options beyond Air BnB?
@JoeBlow Given that, add an answer about finding a holiday rental and trying to haggle! (I ended up using Le Bon Coin as per Colette's answer, with the details from the accepted one)

comment Renting a flat in Lille for a few months - options beyond Air BnB?
@JoeBlow Holiday Rentals often work out very expensive on long rentals, they seem to be aimed at a handful of weeks, not several months. See comments on similar answers below

comment Luggage storage in Oxford
@JoeBlow The station staff will be able to confirm they don't offer it there, which I already know, not sure they'd know anything about external options as their main role is telling you about trains not tourist things!

comment Is a Network Railcard valid for East Coast Trains services between London and Stevenage?
I was on an Anytime ticket, so there are no restrictions on the ticket itself. The supposed restrictions was on the use of the Railcard discount on an Anytime ticket, I'm trying to find out if it was a confused guard or a real restriction
