comment Missed ground connection
Sadly, a long customs line is neither the fault of the airline nor the airport, but of the government of the country you were clearing customs in (Germany) not having sufficient agents for the demand. Other than travel insurance, you're out of luck as I can't see the german government paying up!

comment What is the best alternative to work one afternoon in Brussels during a trip?
If you're going down the Regus route, then their Business Lounges are likely to be a better bet - much cheaper and aimed at the roadwarrier wanting somewhere to get some work done for a few hours to a day

comment Is it possible to consolidate Virgin (Velocity) with AirNZ Airpoints?
You can send your Virgin Australia points to Singapore airlines for a small conversion fee, in case that opens up some more options? Otherwise, maybe look at getting a Virgin Australia credit card or similar to top up your points balance?

comment Is Berlin experiencing a decrease in public activity during summer time (July and August)?
In my experience, Berlin in the summer is hot, but there's lots of stuff on! It isn't Paris ;-)

comment Is it possible to consolidate Virgin (Velocity) with AirNZ Airpoints?
As a general rule, once points are in an Airline program it's either impossible, or vastly expensive to get them into a different program. Virgin Australia and Singapore Airlines are a very unusual counter-example. Could you perhaps get enough points into each to do a one-way with virgin, return one-way on Air NZ?

comment Are there (cheap) boat trips / water taxis / water buses across the Corniche bay in Doha?
Based on similar cities, I was hoping for something in the USD 5-20 range. Hopefully enough for a cheap group trip, or a water bus or taxi, but not enough to cover a boat charter / similar

comment Can I use my Go Card on Sunbus services in Cairns?
Some places say that the GoCard is valid on TransLink services in SE Queensland, some just say all TransLink services, hence the query!

comment Hotel booking cancellation using debit card with insufficient funds
@Andy I frequently book non-cancellable rates at hotels. Maybe 1/3 of the time it goes onto my card then. Another 1/2 it'll be charged within a week of the booking, probably because the hotel processes them in batches. Remainder they don't charge until checkout, despite being a non-refundable rate, but they have my details to charge me if I no-show

comment Are there low-cost airlines operating from Europe to Dominican Republic?
I think your only low cost option for crossing the atlantic right now is Norwegian Air Shuttle - see this question which has some overlap

comment What should I consider before choosing a Sub-Aqua Certification Organisation?
When I asked a year or so ago, the conclusion seemed to be that Travel.SE was a good place for questions about travelling to scuba dive, Outdoors.SE was best about how to dive / techniques / etc

comment What would happen if you miss the bag drop-off deadline and it's kind of the airline's fault for bad ground service?
I suspect it may vary depending on the airline, and even the terminal in question

comment Celebrating the same new year several times over?
What about starting fairly north in the world, then flying over the pole to get to somewhere north on the other side? eg start in Tokyo, fly north and end up in Helsinki or somewhere in Canada? That avoids the need to fly west really really fast!

Bags won't have the green stripe, so the Green Lane would be the simple choice, but I'm interested in what the rules actually say!

Do you have a reference for it being all of the luggage, and not the person that matters?
