comment How do non-English speakers navigate through international airports (specific question about Amsterdam)
Amsterdam Schipol airport is actually very good, lots of maps and signs around the place, including ones with pictures, so it ought to be just fine

comment Can I see which seats are available on a British Airways flight before I book?
That screenshot was taken when not logged in, when searching for a fully-flexible economy ticket. It comes after the page that asks for your name, before the one asking for credit card details. Maybe try again without logging in?

comment Is there a site that has a comparison of European or world-wide airlines carry-on restrictions?
The best resource I've ever found for carrier's luggage allowances is in the luggage departments of higher-end department stores. Very handy for when you're considering which bag/suitcase to buy, less so for deciding which plane ticket to buy given the suitcase you already own...

comment Why do airlines now charge for flying standby in the US?
There's a recent long thread on this on the BAEC FlyerTalk forum, if you're interested have a read of that as the pros and cons are all well thrashed out there

comment Prepaid SIM card for internet use in France, Netherlands and Hungary?
I believe the Lebara are mostly focused on giving you cheaper calls to overseas from within the country you got your sim in, so may not be all that representative. Most of my French friends with prepaid sims had to ring up to activate European roaming, but then had no issues using their sims in the UK at eu-roaming-max rates, and another friend who had a UK sim had no issues in France nor Germany once he'd gone online and ticket the "enable roaming" box in his account settings

comment Prepaid SIM card for internet use in France, Netherlands and Hungary?
Most pre-paid SIM cards in Europe should work in any other EU country, at no more than the EU maximum of €0.20+vat/mb. Some might offer cheaper bundles when roaming. How much data do you need?

comment Disembark flight at unplanned refuelling stop, if the stop is same as ultimate destination?
Does that apply to the US though? The US has some pretty strict rules about clearing immigration at the first port of entry, no airside transit etc, are you sure none of them affect things in this case?

comment Will I save much time by using the US preclearance facilities in Canada/Ireland rather than flying direct?
Why do you think that the OP would need to clear immigration in Ireland for an arrival from within the EU? In fact, why do you think they'd need to do Immigration at all in Ireland when on a direct airside transit?

Have you tried asking them? If the fire code allows it, many hotels will provide a roll-away or similar bed for an additional adult on payment of a suitable suppliment

comment International arriving Chicago ORD to domestic, two different airlines how do I recheck bags?
Are you arriving from a destination that offers Pre-Clearance (eg Canada or Ireland)? That makes a huge difference to what's involved

Is there a reason why you want to use a bus for the whole way? Train+Bus is likely to be much quicker

comment How to check a large backpack?
I've also seen those handed out to people with buggies or prams or the like, if the checkin agent looks blank it might be worth asking for the bag to put a buggie / stroller / etc into, in case they only know of them for that use!
