comment Do hostels provide toiletries?
@hippietrail Bedbugs don't care if you sleep in your sleeping bug or you have it in your bag. They are happy to say even in a sock so unless you require the guests to arrive naked and without any luggage, that trick won't work :)

comment Dorm / Hostel: How to assert myself politely with roommates
As for locking out, in hostel you should become your own key, so it should be no-go.

comment How do you pack your dirty clothing when moving from hotel to hotel?
If they don't managed to get dry, you'll make them take more place, be heavier, and risk they'll mold :)

comment How to deal with a full trash can for used toilet paper where you are not allowed to flush the toilet paper?
@jpatokal well, no. I've seen that in hostels in Germany, so what I've heard is also a norm in Greece. Many old buildings have poor sanitation. Quite interesting, in Poland usually old buildings have superior sanitation to that new ones - you could probably flush a living chicken in it

comment Exchanging Euro to CZK in Prague
Not a duplicate. The linked question is a general question about travelling to EURO zone. My question is about where to exchange money in Prague, which is not in Euro zone.

comment Forex - Zloty to Euro in UK?
"Banks usually charge less than manned exchange places" - it strongly depends. From my experience, they charge much more, but it's comparing the polish banks with the polish currency exchanges (kantors). In France, it may be the opposite.

comment Indian Passport first page ripped - is this considered 'damaged'?
In some countries the invalidated (normally by renewing) passports are marked by ripping or cutting of a fragment of the first page (you can than keep such passport as souvenir) so you should expect some border guards to doubt the validity of such a password.

comment Eating cat meat as a tourist in Switzerland
Yeah, I suppose eating dead animals (for example, killed in road accidents) is generally allowed. If you can't kill and can't import, there's no other source to legally get the meat. I can't say for Germany, I know in Poland there was the process for killing dogs (not selling their meat).

Actually, there are. In Poland (and I suppose, in EU in general) killing animals on will is forbidden and treaten as animal cruelty. Animals can be killed in regulated ways, for example by vet or in slaughterhouse, and as there are no regulations for slaughter of dogs and cats, slaughtering them is illegal. There were show processes against traditional profession of dog grease producers.

comment Does Venice smell?
It's true, every water, with exception of distilled one, smells. For many people that smell (if the water is not contaminated) is pleasant, but some who are not used to water may find it unpleasant as well.
