Picture cards for common tourist needs to avoid the language barrier? I want something easier and quicker than a dictionary. Also I plan to go to several countries and do not want to carry several dictionaries, nor try to figure out what language someone speaks. |

Am I expected to tip wait staff in Europe? To correct one point, tap water is nearly always always freely available in restaurants in Ireland. |

Is Norway significantly more expensive than other European destinations? FTR this Norwegian guy said that lots of things that would affect travelers are more expensive in Norway, e.g. drinks in a bar are more expensive in Norway. |

Update Facebook and/or Twitter via SMS while travelling I will be travelling around Southeastern Europe. I will be camping or staying in hostels, I do not think free or non-free wifi will be that available, so I don't want to rely on it. I shall only be travelling around several countries for 3 weeks, so don't want to buy a local SIM card, esp. if I'll only be in a country for a few days. Ergo, I require some number that works with roaming. |

Where to find free printable road maps/atlases online? @Flimzy yes nearly all map data (excl. USA mostly) is copyrighted, but some, like OSM, is released in an open source/creative commons like licence making it "free as in beer" |

What's the highest price a country charges citizens of another country for tourist visa? Oh yes I suppose. But "health insurance" is not required to enter the USA, only a "nice to have". |
