Are laws about sex outside marriage less rigorously enforced in Dubai for people on layovers? You guys are right: the laws do apply, but are less likely to be as strictly enforced when in transit. Though I would not advise having sex in, say, the transit bathrooms, either with your wife or boyfriend. |

To compare, 'we' should not respect the Taliban's right to keep girls out of school, or Israel's right to keep Palestinians from their own land. The only thing 'we' have to accept is that we will be treated according to their laws when entering their country, as you first say. |

Ship items back home while traveling? I find that while delivering to less developed countries is often less reliable, sending from less developed countries is seldom a problem, at least as far as your goods arriving is concerned. Regular mail does indeed tend to be less careful with the goods, though. |

Is it possible to make a decent income from travelling the world? @Rob: I don't really think there's an essential difference between being a freelancer who's on the road and one who isn't. The same caveats apply. If anything, you'd probably have to be even more reliable than when not traveling. |
