comment What to do if drugs / a bomb are planted in your travel bag?
@Karlson You very well might not after a long flight. Of course the bag feels heavier than when you started out!

I thought you had to be part of a tour to go there.

comment Which road shall I take from Denver, CO to Salt Lake City, UT: I-80 or I-70 w/ US-6?
Beware that the southern routes climb to 10,000'. This could be an issue for people who are sensitive to altitude.

comment What to do in Las Vegas without having to sin?
Zumanity is in the regular list, my understanding is that it has some toplessness and it's quite sexualized. They specifically advertize it as: "The Sensual Side of Cirque du Soleil."

comment Can I consign my pepper spray from Canada to China?
Your first question should be whether it's legal there. A quick Google strongly suggests it isn't.

comment Is travelling to Chernobyl safe for tourists?
8x the safety limit is not going to make you sick. If you want to see some crazy radiation exposure there: youtube.com/watch?v=VDvCoLEpB0c The Russian team was unprotected inside the reactor building itself.

comment What's the cheapest way to call China from the US with an AT&T cell phone?
One more thing--the cheapest way for her to call you is not to. Arrange a time when you're going to call her, or if that's not an option she calls and says "call me", you then call her.

comment How do I prevent damage to electronic devices at airport security?
While they SAY ISO 800 or higher that's the limit for ONE exposure. When figuring the actual safety limit divide that 800 by the number of times you expect the film to go through security.

comment Why do airports sometimes detect traces of explosives in bags?
@MarkMayo: It's a false positive. Glycerin looks a lot like an explosive. (After all, consider nitroglycerin.)

It's the Mordor of Earth--one does not simply hike up Everest!

comment Is it dangerous to drive through Death Valley?
One more point to add here--the heat + no water kills QUICKLY. In climates not as harsh as this a person in good shape might get only a few miles before collapsing. Even if you know where you're walking out to you very well might not make it.

comment Can a tourist buy a gun in the USA?
One more point to add: While you might be able to buy a gun from a private party (Erik's answer) to actually carry it around has it's own licensing requirements separate from purchasing it.

comment Are restrictions on batteries when flying common in first-world countries?
The basic problem is that lithium batteries have a very low internal resistance. A shorted lithium battery can pump out so much current that it heats things to the ignition point.

comment Are there issues with street photography in China when using a professional camera?
I carry a Nikon D80 with a big lens--not pro gear but the average person isn't going to be able to tell the difference. Nobody's ever said a word about street photography.
